English Major's 'Unseen' Exhibit Getting Seen Everywhere

OSU English major Shane Brown is receiving statewide recognition for his Wentz Research project of photographs and texts, titled “Unseen Oklahoma.” He is the featured artist in the Sept./Oct. issue of Oklahoma Today magazine. His photographs will be on exhibit at the Joseph Gierek Fine Art gallery in Tulsa and at one of the three State Capitol galleries in the near future.

Alumni Groups to Give Students 'Senior Moments'

The OSU Alumni Association and Student Alumni Board are rewarding OSU's seniors with Senior Week April 19-23. Seniors can take advantage of several 'seniors only' events that include free popsicles, cokes and pictures with Pistol Pete. Atherton Hotel Opening Doors to New Era

The College of Human Environmental Sciences and School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration are hosts for a community Open House Sunday, April 18 from 1- 4 p.m. to celebrate completion of a $5 million renovation of the Atherton Hotel. Everyone's invited. Tours will be given of the new guest rooms, reception areas, meeting facilities and meeting rooms. Refreshments will be served. The recent renovation has transformed the old hotel into an upscale establishment with amenities that include beautiful furnishings, high-speed internet connections, luxurious robes and a complementary DVD library. The hotel serves as a hands-on classroom for OSU Hotel and Restaurant Administration students. OSU is one of only five U.S. universities to offer hospitality students a hotel laboratory on campus.

Face that Fanned Thousands Launched by OSU Staffer

If you loved those surly Eddie Sutton face fans that surfaced everywhere this season, you should thank Business Administration Outreach staffer Kendria Cost. Cost joined Sutton in choosing just the right pose, then coordinated production work to make the unique fans a reality. They were so popular that some vendors couldn't stock enough. The fans were used to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Cost, who serves as co-chair of the OSU Coaches vs. Cancer Committee, and other OSU employees around campus have dedicated many hours to the effort. With generous help from Sutton and Coach Julie Goodenough, they had raised $78,000 at last count.

CBA Students Plan Orange Crush Walk for Cancer April 16

The first OSU Coaches vs. Cancer Orange Crush 5k Walk/Run is scheduled Friday, April 16, beginning at 7 p.m. at Boomer Lake in Stillwater. Cost of the race is $15 for pre-registration and $20 the day of the race, with an Orange T-Shirt included in the price. The race is being planned by Danny Meyers, Ashley Mott, Preston Nicholson, and Jodi Robinson, four seniors in the College of Business Administration, as part of a class project for Dr. Kenneth Eastman's Leadership Dynamics course. Memorial Walk Honors Diabetes Victim

The second annual Tracey Cox Memorial Walk is Sunday, April 18, from 1-5 p.m. at Boomer Lake. This event is being sponsored by the Stillwater Jaycees and the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. All proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Tracey Cox, an OSU student and member of the fraternity. Tracey, who died in September of 2002 as a result of diabetics complications, was very active in the OSU community. Meanwhile, Hideaway Pizza is donating 10 percent of its proceeds on April 15, from 6 p.m. to close, to the American Diabetes Association.
