Free
screenings for Drug and Alcohol Abuse will be
offered at the Center for Family Services on
April 27-28. Anyone
who feels that they or someone they know may
have a drug or alcohol problem is invited to
participate.
Individuals
who wish to partake in this free evaluation may
call the Center for Family Services at 744-5058
to make an appointment. Walk-ins will be
accepted; however, due to limited space, appointments
are preferred. The sessions will 50 minutes
long and appointments are available starting
from 5-8 p.m. on both days.
The
screenings will help individuals identify whether
or not they have a problem with drug and/or alcohol
abuse and will identify various resources and
treatment options.
The
Center for Family Services (CFS) is sponsored
by the Human Development and Family Science department
at
The
CFS is located in 101 Human Environmental Sciences
West. Therapists are advanced student interns
in Marriage and Family Therapy who are trained
to counsel people in various areas. These include
issues related to parenting of children and adolescents,
loss, divorce and remarriage, single parenting,
domestic violence, sexual difficulties, couple
conflict and communication, depression, and many
other family and individual issues.
The
free screenings, as well as therapeutic services,
are conducted by interns under the supervision
of an American Association for Marriage and Family
Therapy approved supervisor who is also a licensed
Marriage and Family Therapist.
