Numerous
events are scheduled for Disability Awareness
week, with a highlight being the annual Wheelchair
Basketball Bash at 7 p.m., April 12 in Gallagher-Iba
Arena. This exciting fundraiser features OSU
Men and Women’s basketball team members
in an exhibition game against the wheelchair
athletes. The event raises money for Wheelchair
Team travel costs. Due to special needs of the
athletes, travel is expensive, and each athlete
is responsible for paying his/her own way. Doors
open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 each, with one
free child (12-year-old and under) admission
with each paid adult admission. You also can
buy tickets at the Student Union Hub or at the
door.
Other
Disability Awareness Week Activities include:
April
13 - Deaf Awareness Day – The Deaf World
Workshop will be in the Starlight Terrace,
starting at 8:30 a.m. Space is limited.
Call Ty at 744-7116 to reserve your space.
